The Supreme Court of Canada will visit Winnipeg to hear two appeals and meet with Manitobans. It's the first time ever that the Court will hear cases outside of Ottawa. It's a large public event open to everyone, with all nine judges attending and meeting with various communities throughout the week.


Supreme Court Hearings in Winnipeg

  • R. v. K.G.K. (Manitoba) | Wed., Sept. 25 at 9:30 a.m. (half day)
    • This case is about the right to a trial in a reasonable time. The Supreme Court has to decide if the time a judge takes to decide a case should count when deciding if a trial is taking too long: Case Pre-Brief
