Visit of the Supreme Court of Canada to Halifax

From September 20 to 24, 2027, the Supreme Court of Canada will travel to Halifax, Nova Scotia, to hear appeals and meet with members of the public.

The Halifax visit continues the Court’s tradition of sitting outside Ottawa to bring Canada’s highest court closer to the people it serves. The Court previously visited Winnipeg in 2019 and Quebec City in 2022.

During its stay in Halifax, the Court will take part in a variety of activities with members of the public, students and the legal community. These events will provide unique opportunities to learn more about the role of the Supreme Court of Canada and Canada’s justice system, and to engage directly with members of the Court.
