Notice about Covid-19
The Supreme Court of Canada building is closed to visitors due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Court has adapted the processes for appeal hearings to ensure the health and safety of all participants. At the direction of the Chief Justice, counsel appear via videoconference. All hearings are livestreamed and are archived with certain exceptions.
For the filing of Court documents, please note the following:
Parties are required to file paper copies of their appeal factum and any volume of the appeal record containing Part I. They are also required to file paper copies of their condensed book. All other appeal and leave documents, whether originating or not, are to be filed by email only, unless otherwise directed by the Registrar.
