Fall Hearings at the SCC

The Supreme Court of Canada resumed appeal hearings on Tuesday, September 22nd. Hearings took place in-person and by way of video-conference. In the first three weeks of the session, we heard the cases that were postponed due to COVID19.

Out of concern for the health and safety of visitors and employees in light of COVID-19, the Supreme Court of Canada Building will remain closed to visitors. The Chief Justice has directed that, given the current Covid-19 pandemic situation, all counsel are to appear via videoconference, using Zoom, for hearings in November and December 2020. The Justices will be present in the Courtroom, and all proceedings will be livestreamed on the Court’s website.
